Sophia Ramsey

Undergraduate student

     
     

Sophia is in the class of 2019 at Harvard College, residing in Winthrop house. She is a prospective candidate for a Bachelors degree in Human Evolutionary Biology, and aims to continue her education and attain a MD/PHD. In 2014 she interned at MIT, researching the effects of mutations in the Drosophila zydeco gene on temperature-influenced seizures. On campus, she takes part in the Association of Black Women at Harvard and is an intern in the BGLTQ Office of Student Life.

As an intern in the lab Sophia is working with postdoc Arpita Kulkarni. She is excited to be studying primordial germ cells and the oskar gene in Gryllus bimaculatus.
